Adults 18 years, of age and over: Take 1 capsule daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days.
Swallow the capsule whole with water, with or without food. Do not crush, chew or open the capsule. Not intended for immediate relief. It may take a few days to achieve maximum results.
Do not take for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor.
USAGE ADVICE The bottle contains a sealed container with silica gel desiccant. Keep the bottle tightly closed to protect from moisture.

Nexium 24HR 20mg is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat frequent heartburn and acid reflux. Nexium 24HR 20mg works by reducing the amount of acid that is absorbed from the stomach into the esophagus. It can be taken with or without food, but it is recommended to take it at the same time every day to maintain a consistent level of the acid in your stomach. It is important to keep taking the medication as directed by your doctor, even if you feel well. Keep taking this medicine even if you feel well, and never take more than your doctor has prescribed.
This medicine may cause a temporary decrease or avoid a certain meal. Taking more than the recommended dose will not cause an to prevent side effects or delayed the onset of serious side effects. Take all of the medicine as directed by your doctor, usually every 4 to 6 hours. Many people using this medicine take Nexium 24HR capsules for the best results. Keep taking all of the medicine even if you feel well, and even if you start to feel better. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless you are under 24 hours from your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time; do not use 3 or more of the medicine together.
Do not take Nexium 24HR more than once daily. Taking more than the recommended amount daily may cause your symptoms to reappear. If symptoms persist or get worse, consult your doctor.
If you are taking any of the other medicine in the class of drugs, you should not use this medicine. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had any liver problems. You should also avoid using the drug that is given to you by your doctor to prevent kidney problems or other problems that may need to be treated with this medicine. Also, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Nexium 24HR may cause serious side effects such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms: Unusual menstrual periods or spotting. Loss of coordination or abnormal eye movements.
Do not use this medicine if you are hypersensitive to this medicine. People with hypersensitivity to this medicine or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine may be at higher risk for the serious side effects of Nexium 24HR. If you already have a prescription for this medicine, you should bring it with you before using this medicine. This medicine can cause unpleasant side effects such as stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Contact your doctor for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
